about
Lead single off my forthcoming album 'This Strange Tide'. Written June 2021 at Dusty Studios in Columbia, Missouri. This song kick started writing for my first full length effort and was inspired by a happy mistake putting a capo on my classical guitar, and not fretting the high E string. I was warming up and the first chord I strummed was an E chord and it had this cool augmented sound to it that I built the song around.
lyrics
This strange tide pulls me down from within
Never knowing just how long
But always so strong, this strange tide
The ocean and its ways
Don't obey your wishes
They'll keep you
Keep you down, down, down
Until what was lost, is found
This strange tide
This strange tide pulls back
Release me to the shore
Former self, fades in the distance
Come ashore, who you are, once more
This strange tide
